For the undead are the prey of choice for Rayne, the alluring dhampir (vampire/human offspring) with a flair for stylized death-dealing and superhuman acrobatics. This time, Rayne's relentless hunt for blood-suckers has brought her to a remote castle teeming with misshapen horrors of the night. A great culling is about to begin, and our leading lady can't wait to put her trusty arm blades and deadly high heels into action — as she hacks, slashes, and blasts her way through the perilous hallways. BloodRayne has always been about gunning or cutting down hordes of monsters, and 's sleek anime art and challenging platforming bring Rayne's blood-frenzy to life in spectacular fashion.Rain death upon the ugly undead in BloodRayne Betrayal, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Based on the popular video game 'BloodRayne 2' this highly detailed collectible statue depicts our beloved heroine Rayne standing triumphantly over her slaughtered enemy. Painstakingly sculpted in all her glory by veteran SFX artist Claudio Setti, this limited edition statue is a must for any true fan! This world is equal parts melancholy and melodramatic, and despite the gorgeous vibrancy of its incredible 2D sprite art, Betrayal is every bit.

The 50/75% discounts will last until January 28, 1:59 PM GMT. GeraltofRivia: Am I the only one who can't play this game at all because it crashes on startup without network connection? This seems to be another entry in the 'doesn't work without Galaxy' list.
Sadly removing or renaming galaxy.dll wich works with many of these games (like Ziggurat, for example) doesn't work with Bloodrayne.@Judas: Before you ask, I have already raised a Support ticket. I just started up my game and it does not require Galaxy on my computer but I do not have Galaxy installed on my PC so I can't say if the game would automatically detect it and have some sort of a conflict if it is not running on it. Chacranajxy: I'm a bit surprised, as well, and agree this is at least a step in the right direction.Bloodrayne 1 and 2 weren't good games.
We know this. But that doesn't mean that, by extension, Betrayal isn't good, either. It's by a totally different developer, and plays more like a 2D Devil May Cry. It's got a satisfying combo system, just the right level of challenge, and a great soundtrack. If you're on the fence, it's definitely worth giving a shot.I mean. Keep fighting the good fight as far as getting more interesting stuff on the store - obviously, I'm all about that - but don't become the ones to turn your nose up when something cool comes along.
I like the game and people should watch the YouTube videos like TotalBiscuit who gives it a good rating. But I don't know why some people are complaining about the controls. I think they are fine. The controls respond well and I can play it with the default set-up. No way should anyone play this on a keyboard because that is just senseless. And just because the PSP controls were bad doesn't mean the controls for the PC are the same because they are not.

And just because the PSP controls were bad doesn't mean the controls for the PC are the same because they are not. I played it on PC and they felt awful. Once again, thanks, GOG, for letting us have a breather from all the strategy games and the turn-based stuff you've been releasing for months on end, now. Like I said on the Nuclear Throne release thread, I'm insta-buying.every. remotely action game that isn't a strategy title, that's how desperate I am.As for all the naysayers in this thread, well, you either like or dislike the BloodRayne series, and that's completely fine. I, for one, like the 'classic' Rayne games a lot (yes, even the second one), and I liked this one, too.
It's not the best game ever, definitely not even the best game on GOG, but I didn't find it to be as mediocre as everyone else keeps saying it is. It's hard, it's challenging, that much is true, but it plays very smoothly, looks astonishing and sounds great. I don't have a controller, so, I had to play it on keyboard, and I finished it just fine (I'm far from 100% it, but I did finish the 15 chapters of the game, unlocking a concept art gallery). Don't be scared away by all the people saying it plays like crap, or that it's a very bad game; I managed to play it just fine - it controls way better than that crap that is Shadow Man, for instance.I'm attaching a Galaxy screenshot for you guys interested in it to confirm I did, in fact, beat the game (in 6h11m). Some people are going to find it insanely hard, fortunately, others, like me, grew up with games that are way harder than this one. Your mileage may vary. I'd highly recommend the game if you're either an old-school sidescrolling action-platformer fan, a BloodRayne aficionado or if you want to try a challenging game to take a breather from all the cRPGs and the strategy games GOG has been releasing for half a year.
SCPM: I've got Galaxy installed, and the game runs fine without Galaxy running. What OS and graphics card have you got? Galaxy consists of more than just the user interface (aka the Galaxy client). It will use the Galaxy services in the background and tell everyone on the GOG forums that you are playing the game, register your achievements, etc. Unless you stop it from doing so with a firewall. But if you do so the game will crash. What it should do is run without Galaxy.Several games that show similar behaviour (e.g.
Ziggurat) can be stopped from doing so by removing or renaming the galaxy.dll from the game directory. That doesn't work with Bloodrayne. Chacranajxy: I'm a bit surprised, as well, and agree this is at least a step in the right direction.Bloodrayne 1 and 2 weren't good games. We know this.

As far as i am concerend the inverse is truebloodrayne 1 and 2 were perfectly fine games with a darkly humorous undercurrent running through themits betrayal thats lets the side down its subpar with a difficulty curve that starts at nes hard and then ramps it up to become fucking verticalit doesnt help much that i loath platformers and this is more platformer then hack and slashits not even bloodrayne 2.5 to me its a miss step sideways and smashed in to a walli already have the game twice i pass for buying it again.

And just because the PSP controls were bad doesn't mean the controls for the PC are the same because they are not. Thanks, hadn't realised totalbiscuit reviewed this. I'll check it out. Snowkatt: psp?its a psn game and an xbox live game but its not on the psp Sorry, I meant PSN, not PSP. Someone on this post mentioned that the PSN controls were horrible, but maybe it is just an individual's preference.
Personally I don't have any trouble with the controls, but sometimes I do the back-flip when I don't mean to. I wish it was assigned to an individual button.I've played up to stage 9 and enjoy the game so far. I don't think this is a revolutionary game, but a fun hack and slash type. I can see where people may have complaints about it.
It is suitable for those who want a hack and slash adrenaline rush, but those who are looking for something much deeper will be disappointed. But I can't make a final judgment until I've played it all the way through.
